I am interested in the Eastern Route primarily from the end of track in Newburyport up to the end of track in Hampton. This portion is abandoned. There are things of interest to the railroad archaeologist beyond these boundaries and they will be included but this is the area of primary concern.
The abandoned portion of the Eastern RR goes through the following towns.
Newburyport
Salisbury
Seabrook
Hampton Falls
Hampton
The above map shows the part of the line that I am talking about. It
is a few mile stretch that is very interesting with numerous bridges, iron,
signals, and some mileposts.
