1893 topo map showing the path of the Essex Railroad from the end/beginning at the Lawrence/North Andover line to the center of Middleton. The Middleton/North Andover line is a short distance beyond Ingalls station. Where what is now Sharpners Pond Road.
The timetable shows that there were 5 stations within the town of North Andover. Middleton had two on this line and Danvers a whopping six stations on the Essex RR.
The line also had two good sized trestles. One was between Danvers and
Peabody over the Waters River and the other was in North Andover over Suttons
Pond.

from West side of bridge.
Remains of the former trestle that crossed Sutton's Pond in North Andover.
In Middleton there was a turntable and the station still survives to this day. I understand that the turntable pit in Middleton still survives as a basement of someones house.

Stations in Mass
North Andover also sported an interesting arch that carried the line over a dirt road.
