At one time Rochester New Hampshire had railroads coming in and out of it from six different directions.
There was quite a bit of railroad activity. Now there is on the New Hampshire Northcoast mainline coming through town.
I spent some time up in Rochester recently getting a few pics.

Looks like we have a railfan right next to the ROW. I snapped this picture  of the models he has on display outside his house. Anyone know who this railfan is?

This is the ROW  going West from Railroad Ave. in Gonic, on it's way to Dover.

Here's the  view to the East with the freight house on the left. You can drive up the ROW for the short distance it takes to get to the Spaulding. Fortunately there is plenty of room to turn around.

Freight house with ROW looking East towards Rochester.

Bridge going over 16B, view from ROW.

Same ROW, showing all the ties that still haven't been removed.

View of bridge from route 16b.

I was surprised/pleased to find a couple of boxcars still in Rochester.

I also found a crossing with iron still in it. Here are a couple of views.

Interestingly enough the car show in the second picture actually stopped at the crossing before proceeding across, even though the iron isn't connected to anything. At least some people stop. Can't easily tell from his view whether it was connected or not.

Here is a map of  Gonic that shows the location of the station, side tracks, brick yards and freight house.

This is an  aerial photo of East Rochester which shows part of the railroad line, a business served by rail, and if you look real close you can just make out the station.

This map shows just how busy  the center of Rochester was.

I scanned in this  topo map  because it makes comparing the WN&P and route 125 in West Gonic very easy.
