The Lowell and Lawrence at Lowell. The center of the three tracks coming
into Lowell is where the Salem and Lowell trains went. The right of way
looks in good hspe but you can see that the bridge over the Concord River
is out.
This picture clearly shows the present freight main as well as the
S&L coming from Lowell and heading into Wamesit. The lower of the two
right of ways in this picture is the S&L. Still looks in good shape.
Where the two lines come together and go under Route 38 is known as Wamesit.
The lines then diverge from each other.
Close up of the S&L just East of Wamesit. The line above the present freight main, Route 38 is plainly visible. The S&L is between the two.
This view shows up to the present "end of track". If you look carefully you can see the former "Tewksbury Centre" station, now a house.
North Rd is the street running North/South. The right of way is barely visible beyond North Rd. It roughly paralleled the road at the bottom of this picture.
If the Wye were still visible it would be in this picture, just South of the present freight main. You can just barely make out the ROW coming in from the West. On the North side of the freight main you can make out line going to West Andover and Lawrence. That line went under the present freight main via a tunnel.
Zoomed out view of same area. The right of way coming in from the West is visible as is the line to West Andover and Lawrence.
